For more than eighty years, VS has been at the artistic heart of civic life ensuring live orchestral music is heard on stage, in schools, and around the community. Throughout the season, more than 130,000 people find themselves moved by VS concerts and programming.
Every gift made by a donor is a part of this work.
However, year-over-year we struggle with the increasing costs in all areas of our artistic production and operations, which have been intensified by the lingering effects of COVID-19, and face dwindling government grants. That is why now more than ever, your support makes all the difference! When you make a gift to the Victoria Symphony, you become an important part of how we keep the music playing on stage and in the community, ensuring ticket prices remain accessible, and supporting the musicians and programming that inspires us and educates the next generation.
Without generous gifts from individuals like you, none of that would be possible.
Your Support at Work
In 2023/24 gifts from our donors made it possible for:
- 939 tickets to be distributed to community partners and other charities to breakdown barriers to attend concerts
- 1,000 students to attend an Education Concert for free
- 8 new Canadian compositions for orchestra to be created, 4 by female composers
- 350 children aged 3-6 to experience Symphony Storytime for the first time
- 5,500 people to attend free summer concerts
